Gerda Henkel Foundation: Funding Programme Lost Cities. Perception of and living with abandoned cities in the cultures of the world.

May 18, 2022

The funding priority "Lost Cities" is interdisciplinary in nature. Projects should focus on culture-specific and cross-cultural causal relationships and take into account regional as well as temporal specifics. The abandoned cities themselves, as well as the different forms of their interpretation, instrumentalization and coding in different cultures and time periods are of particular interest.

Applications are open to scholars with a doctorate and a university affiliation in the humanities and social sciences. Applications can be made for projects with a thematic focus, which are worked on by a research group (at least 2 scientists actively involved in the project).
Depending on the type of project, research projects are funded by the assumption of personnel, travel, material and/or other costs.
Maximum possible funding period: 36 months

Deadline for applications: May 18, 2022
