Gerda Henkel Foundation: Special Programme - Security, Society and the State

The special program "Security, Society and State" is aimed at scientists who want to take a new look at security policy, whose problems are exemplary for the post-Cold War period or have received little attention in the relevant research so far.

The program supports projects in the following thematic areas:

  • The Challenge of New Technologies

  • Public administration and human security

  • Conflict resolution patterns between the state and traditional actors

  • Non-state actors as partners and competitors of the state

  • Security and communication strategies between doctrine formation and implementation

The funding period is 1-24 months. Applications are invited for research fellowships for principal investigators, doctoral and/or research fellowships for project staff, personnel funds for student assistants, travel funds, family allowance and/or expatriate allowance, if applicable.
