Language course 'Conversational German'

Together with the International Center and the Graduate Center, the Postdoc Center at Kiel University offers you the opportunity to take part in the language course "Conversational German". This course is aimed specifically at CAU employees with a doctorate from abroad and their non-German partners who want to find their way around everyday life in German.

In this event you can maintain and improve your German language skills. The focus is on pronunciation and speaking practice. German grammar, however, from time to time takes a larger part - especially at the beginning of language acquisition - as it is an essential basis for fluent language use. The instructor, John Tiede, works in small groups of similar language level and adapts the course content to your needs. He also addresses your questions about specific topics and problems. Due to the different composition of the participants, the focus of the content varies.

Course dates and venue

Saturdays from 8.30 to 10.00, 10.15 to 11.45 and 12.00 to 01.30 pm, currently online, Leibnizstrasse 3, Room 15.

If you would like to participate, please contact John Tiede by e-mail. Please indicate how long and in which form you have already learned German and which level you have reached. He will inform you about the respective level of the courses offered and let you know when the next date will be. During the first day of the course there will be a short placement test for you in order to be able to assign you to the appropriate group based on your level. After that you can attend up to three times to decide for yourself if you want to attend regularly.
